I, intoxicated and dry,

devoid of senses whatsoever,

drown deeper and deeper

in a void inconsolable.

You, immersed in the worldly pursuits,

glance at me with pity,

and race ahead of me,

unperturbed as usual.

You amaze me sometimes.

But then again,

you are only a human

and me, just a mere shadow

of the overcast sky,

we can never truly reach out

to one another.
